About our uniform

We believe that wearing a school uniform promotes a sense of pride, belonging, and equality among our students. Our uniform policy ensures that all pupils are dressed appropriately for learning, representing our school community with respect and professionalism.

Our uniform

Our children wear a uniform which consists of white polo shirt, green sweatshirts/cardigans (with school logo), grey skirt/trousers and black shoes. Boots or shoes with heels should not be worn. Stud earrings are allowed and watches can be worn but no smart watches with camera facilities.

KS1 children have a book bag. KS2 have a back pack. For PE all the children need a PE bag, white tee shirt and blue or black shorts/jogging bottoms. The uniform can be ordered through the school.

In the summer the pupils may wear green and white gingham dresses or short school grey trousers.

We have spare uniform in school for parents to request if they need it. Please ask at the school office.

PE kit

For PE (on health and safety grounds) ALL jewellery must be removed, including studs and friendship bracelets.  If the children are wearing such items they will be asked to remove them and although we will do our best to keep them safe, we cannot take responsibility for them.   It would be helpful if you show your children exactly how to remove studs for themselves.   Even during normal lessons, we ask that earrings be limited to small studs for obvious safety reasons.

It is also essential that children with long hair have a hair band with which to tie their hair back and away from their eyes for all physical education. Clips are not suitable for this. Long hair which is not tied back can be dangerous in lively games activities.  Head dresses can also be tied back.

Children who wear head scarves will be asked to tie these back for PE. Headscarves should be white or black.

When having swimming lessons the children will require a swimming costume and a towel.

Branded uniform

It is not an expectation that parents buy ‘branded uniform’ in our school provided they match the green sweatshirt/jumper and white polo shirt policy. We understand uniform is expensive and understand the financial pressures families are under.

General expectations

Our main advice is: please do not send your children to school wearing jewellery.

  • Only small stud earrings and watches (Not smart watches or similar type devices) may be worn in school.
  • No jewellery to be worn for P.E. Children who are old enough to remove and replace their own stud earrings may do so. Parents should remove earrings for younger children before coming to school. When ears have been pierced recently these can be covered. However, we ask that earrings are pierced at the beginning of the summer break to allow six weeks for healing. The taping of earrings should be done by the child and cannot be done by teachers or support staff.

Mobile phones

Children should not bring mobile telephones to school or wear smart watches or similar devices. If parents need to contact pupils they can do so via the school office. In exceptional circumstances mobiles may be kept at the school office by written request from the parent/carer. The school cannot be responsible for the loss or damage of mobile phones.
